WEC Energy Group Port Washington, WI (Onsite) Full-Time

Wisconsin Electric Power, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Power Generation in our Port Washington, Wisconsin location. 

This position is part of a job family (Associate Engineer, Engineer, Senior Engineer, and Principal Engineer) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of system performance through modeling, development of system designs, overseeing construction, maintenance and/or operations activities, incident investigations, troubleshooting systems and equipment and testing materials.  Prepares engineering designs and performs basic engineering calculations.  May prepare material and construction specifications and cost estimates, review and/or check internal and external construction plans, update as needed and implement constructions activity for projects.  Is able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Read and understand electrical drawings, understands basic control systems and logic, and can assist with energy isolation packages.
  • Performs basic equipment testing, troubleshooting and data analysis and supports more advanced troubleshooting activities.  Demonstrates a developing technical and operation knowledge of assigned equipment and/or systems. Supports and learns performance monitoring/optimization tools to ensure improved equipment and system reliability, efficiency and performance.  
  • Monitors project status versus the plan.  Prepares and submits progress and cost tracking reports.  Creases basic estimates for labor, equipment and material resources needed.  Generates alternatives that could meet project requirements.  Conducts economic analyses to support decision making on best alternative.  Provides input to RFP's and contract development.  Performs contract administration and construction inspection of minor projects.  Expedites material deliveries and labor to support project schedule.  Enforces requirements of project drawings and specifications.
  • Is aware of basic codes, standards and regulations within discipline.   Updates drawings and other engineering documentation and maintains corporate records by filing in accordance with business guidelines.



Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Relevant engineering experience



Preferred Qualifications

  • Power Plant or electrical system experience

End Date: 05/14/2025 

Pay Range Minimum:  $66,898.00 

Pay Range Maximum:  $152,615.06 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
